Masirah Beach camp

The owner was extremely kind and friendly, and helped me a lot during the trip, especially when I had trouble booking the ferry. My dad and I spent two nights here in a large room with a bride window over the beach and bathroom. It was very quiet at night, so we could rest well, and the starry sky was breathtaking. We could also spend time in the cozy common areas with the owner. Breakfast was amazing, with fresh crêpes and eggs, tea, and fruit. A great place to discover the Masirah island.

Animals were able to get into our room, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness and safety. There was also a strong chemical smell as soon as we entered, making it uncomfortable to stay there. Getting to Masirah Beach Camp was difficult and inconvenient because there’s no paved road leading to it. The owner refused to provide a receipt, had no credit card machine and insisted on cash, and overcharged us when we paid in USD. Another female guest told us she felt uncomfortable because of the owner’s inappropriate behavior toward her. He lives on the premises and kept hitting on her. It didn’t directly involve our group, but hearing it added to our poor impression. This was extremely disappointing and negatively affected our whole trip. I would not return or recommend staying here.

The tents have no Aircon, so get into the premium accommodation before summer arrives. Service was outstanding, and breakfast had something for everyone. You don’t need a 4x4 to reach the camp, as the ground is hard and well traveled. The water nearby is very shallow, but there’s lots to do across the island. Head to the 5000+ year old copper village in the southeast, where there’s a geo-cache in the topmost rooms. One of the best spots on the island!

The drive was worth it for two nights by the beach, just relaxing. The owner was very nice and even offered to take us at sunset to feed his camels. Those unexpected moments made the stay much better. I highly recommend it!
