Al Hadow Hotel

The reception staff were nice, and checking in and out was quick and easy. It’s an affordable hotel right in central Muscat. My room was small but fine, with a fridge, a desk and a TV with English channels. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom did the job. The room heated up quickly as soon as I switched off the AC, though.

It’s a good budget crash pad, with Mutrah Souq within walking distance and a bar just across the street, so it suits backpackers. The beds are rock hard, the tap water was brown, and the place gives off the kind of vibe where you’d expect rooms to be rented by the hour. Still, the price is great if you only need somewhere to sleep.

Getting around is easiest by car, and there’s free parking. The hotel is reasonably priced, with friendly staff and a Spar supermarket about 50m away. Walking to the bazaar takes roughly half an hour, and Ruwi bus station is around 40-50 minutes away on foot. The local bus between the bazaar and Ruwi doesn’t travel toward the hotel, unfortunately.

The rooms and hotel were clean, and the location is very good. The AC and minibar were great too. For such a good price, the service was wonderful. Everyone at reception and on the Housekeeping Team took good care of the guests and rooms. Babu and the House Keeping guy were especially kind and helpful, and made my stay go perfectly.
