Savoy Grand Hotel Apartments

For the price, the room was okay, with both AC and a fan. We felt comfortable there, almost like staying at an Indian hotel, and reception responded promptly when we called for help. There’s an Indian restaurant downstairs serving South Indian-style food, and many staff spoke Hindi. A few were South Indian and spoke good English. Nearby you’ll find car rental, a hypermarket, and a tea stall selling an aloo samosa for 100 baisa. In the evening, traffic in the area gets heavy. From the airport, you can take a bus for 1 OMR per person and get off at azibab bus station or oman oil stop. The hotel is walkable from the bus station.

The room and location seemed good for the price, but our stay was a bad experience. We couldn’t sleep through the night and checked out early in the morning because of what might have been bed bugs or mosquitoes. The bed was uncomfortable, and there was a blood spot on the blanket. They need to take better care of this, as it isn’t good for health.

The price changed from 9 OMR to 20 OMR for no reason, and the staff were not friendly. Service was terrible. The rooms and bathrooms were dirty, the walls were stained, and bugs were all over the place. Absolutely awful. A labor camp would be better.

There were cockroaches in the room, along with visible dirt on the floor and unclean towels. The reception staff were rude and dismissive, with no basic courtesy or professionalism. The receptionist in particular spoke loudly and disrespectfully. If I were the hotel manager, I’d have fired the mustached receptionist. Extremely disappointing, and I strongly advise against booking here.
