Salalah International Hotel

The location is perfect, close to everything, and the staff were friendly. My room was clean and neat, with a safe for a laptop, iPad and other valuables, plus good Wi-Fi. Breakfast was very good, but there was no coffee machine, and seating is limited when more people arrive. The gym was good, though one full-body machine wasn't working properly. Noise was a big problem. The rooms aren't soundproof, so corridor and street noise comes through and makes it hard to sleep or work. Today, local club players staying at the hotel screamed and made a huge racket for over an hour. There wasn't much hot water either, and the window wasn't properly fixed, so wind and street sounds filled the room. The owner needs to make some changes.

The central location was the only upside. I booked based on the good reviews but was very disappointed: the hotel is old and poorly maintained, the AC left a bad smell in the rooms, and breakfast was average. It was overcrowded, and parking wasn't as advertised since you have to find a spot on the street yourself. Wouldn't recommend it.

The room was much nicer than the hotel’s exterior suggested: spotless, well equipped, with a really comfortable bed and decent bathroom toiletries. Reception staff were especially friendly and helpful. I was there briefly on business. Breakfast was fine, though a few more choices would improve it. I’d happily stay again on my next visit.

I’ve stayed here twice. If you can, ask for a room on the building’s left side, where the windows are full glass instead of the smaller ones.
