The hotel is in an excellent spot, with a pharmacy, café, and restaurant next door. We visited on 27 November 2025, during the National Day holiday, and found the price very reasonable for the stay. The reception staff were friendly and polite, and service was quick. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, with clean, comfortable mattresses and blankets. It could sleep up to three people, but there’s no extra bed, just an additional mattress. There was no kettle, tea, or coffee in the room, and I’d like those to be provided. The bathroom was medium-sized and clean, though shower water spread across the whole floor. Every room has a balcony with a beautiful sea view, but construction bricks in front of ours slightly spoiled it while maintenance work was underway. Breakfast was very good, 7/10. We didn’t use the pool because of the cold weather, but from how it looked, I’d give it 6/10.

The reservation team was patient, polite, and very friendly with our group of 120, and the banquet team served us so pleasantly throughout the event. We spent two days at Sur Beach Holiday Resort and had an amazing stay. We’re looking forward to going back soon.

There was construction going on during my stay, and everything about the hotel felt cheap. It does have a sea view, but the beach was littered with trash and the sand wasn’t very clean.

After surfing from Liberia to Oman and across Africa from north to south, and staying in plenty of places along the way, I’d put Golden Beach Restaurant in Al Ashkharah near the top of my list. The room and bed were tidy and clean, and the balcony sea view was breathtaking. The staff were amazingly helpful and supportive, and the price for what you get is excellent. Can’t wait to come back, definitely!

The female receptionist was very rude and made the day worse. You can’t reach the manager when you need to. If you stay there, watch your belongings, the staff seemed dishonest and unhelpful.
