Zaki Hotel Apartment

Breakfast didn't have much choice, but everything tasted really good, and the unsweetened yoghurt was a plus. The lobby is opulent and the staff were really nice. Our spacious room was okay clean, the beds were comfy, and the bathroom was okay, though everything felt a bit worn. The other shared areas, mostly the halls, were dirty. The first-floor hallway carpet was especially gross. The internet connected, but with four devices we couldn't load all the pages we wanted, and it was super slow for everyone. Mobile data is a better bet. Our apartment key worked sometimes and sometimes didn't. The locks looked like they'd been downgraded from a key card system, with parts covered in black tape. There was a full kitchen but literally nothing to cook with. The basics work, and for the money the stay was okay, but there's a lot of room for improvement. 7/10 feels about right, and nothing's going to bite you in the butt.

The restaurant and café attached to the hotel were full of locals, and the food was delicious, generously portioned, and very reasonably priced. It's a convenient spot near the Corniche and Harbour, and good value for money. The lobby is modern while the rooms have a more dated style, but the hotel delivers on cleanliness and function, and the staff were genuinely warm and helpful. It made a comfortable base in Sur, and we'd happily stay again.

For the price, it was okay for a short stay, but I wouldn't recommend staying longer. The apartment was spacious, with two bedrooms, a large kitchen, and a big living room. The bed was okay too. The bathroom is a wet room without a shower enclosure, and the towels were old and stained and need replacing urgently. The lobby looked neat and clean, but the corridors had very dirty, filthy carpet that needs an urgent makeover and replacement. Breakfast was very basic with few options, and the area seemed dirty and poorly maintained, with tables covered in plastic. The location is good, near a main road and gas stations, and there's a restaurant attached.

We stayed one night and had a very decent stay. The room was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were nice. Shops and restaurants are close by.
