La Semilla Ecolodge

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, and the staff on site were very nice. Alejandro, the new manager, was lovely too, though he was fired after only two weeks. The place has potential but needs TLC: some outlets and lights didn't work, and the jacuzzi hot water, which Paul had confirmed was working a week before, wasn't. The Airbnb directions were incomplete, and the listing inaccurately said the Junior Suite had two beds. Paul said they don't get many Airbnb bookings, but that isn't my business, they should either remove the listing or make it accurate. He did let us use another room so each of us could sleep in a bed. Poor management and communication, and those inaccuracies are why I gave it two stars.

The food we tried was very good, though I would have liked more choices on the menu. I went for bird watching and wasn't disappointed. The location is nice, the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'd certainly visit again.

It was a quiet weekend getaway, just right for reading, watching birds, or taking a walk. The stay matched what I expected, and they did decorate the room romantically when I asked for a special occasion.

La Semilla, whose name means “the seed,” feels like one of those rare places made with love. The owners had the vision, and the caring staff looked after the lush gardens, each planted one seed at a time. I can absolutely recommend it for a relaxing vacation, a wedding, honeymoon, or anniversary. You really feel the love!
