The Guest Suites at Manana Madera

The drive up is very steep and felt a little daunting at first, though our rental car made it each time. It was a bit colder in Boquete than we like, but that wasn't anything to do with Randy and Kat's wonderful suite. My wife and I stayed here for the last stop of our honeymoon, and had a beautiful, relaxing visit. The guest suite is nicely decorated, with amazing views through the bedroom windows. Randy and his wife Kat were exceptional hosts, attentive to details and open to hearing how they could improve. We appreciated Randy's recommendations, and when we were running short on clean clothes near the end of our trip, he even did a load of laundry for us.

The rooms were comfortable, the food was plentiful, and the property had an incredible view. Randy and Katt were the kindest, most helpful hosts my husband and I met in Boquete. Randy knew so much about the area and generously offered to drive us to and from town. The thought and care they put into making guests feel peaceful and welcome really touched us. We loved staying here and hope to come back.

The scenery is beautiful, but our stay was marred by a large amount of money being stolen from the safe in our room. We expected a different response from our host, who didn't offer to help or take us to the police station. The guest suite is also far out on a steep hill, so getting around is difficult without depending on the host, since most taxis won't go up.

Randy is an outstanding host, knows the area incredibly well, and grows excellent coffee, so be sure to stock up. This place still has that old-school quality, from the service to the rooms and materials.
