A laid-back hostel in a perfect spot. I’d booked just one bed by mistake, then showed up with my group of four, and the owners were really accommodating despite the language barrier and initial confusion. Thanks again! The only issue was the neighbouring roosters, so bring earplugs.

The location is the one real plus. The rooms are run-down and not well maintained, and the shared outdoor kitchen is practical but dirty. The showers swung between scalding and freezing, and staff only fixed the problem after we put a lot of pressure on them and asked for compensation. There wasn’t much of a hostel atmosphere, either, so it’s not a place to meet people or make friends. I’d only stay if nowhere else had space.

The room was decent, clean, and spacious, with a nice hot shower, though the shower door was missing. The surrounding areas really let the stay down. The kitchen equipment was worn out, the kettle didn’t work, and there were sharp knives but no chopping board. The bin smelled awful. Dogs roamed the garden, wandered through the kitchen, and did their business wherever they pleased. They didn’t bother us directly, but there was a bad smell around our room, likely from the dogs, that made sitting in the hammock unappealing. One morning, someone was working on a bus in the driveway, so breakfast in the kitchen was very noisy.

The Doraz family made us feel right at home, they’re so welcoming and lovely. It was our favorite stay of the whole trip and great value. The location is right in the center, and the outdoor kitchen was convenient and enjoyable. It was well stocked with teas and DIY breakfast, including pancake mix, oats, and syrups, plus fresh bowls of fruit in the fridge every morning. The hammock was lovely for hanging out, and they were super helpful with booking activities and shuttles. Laundry service is available too. 110% recommend!

A comfortable room with a TV, and a well-equipped outdoor kitchen where you can make breakfast with free pancakes, coffee, or tea. The owners are super friendly and helpful. Great central location near supermarkets, and a really good place to spend a few days in Boquete.
