We never stayed overnight, but ate here several times during our week in town. Of all the restaurants we tried, this was our favorite. The Caesar salad and chicken dishes were especially good, and the setting and service are hard to beat. It’s away from the main road, and a good place to spend a little less.
The chicken wings were fine, with plenty of BBQ sauce served in a little bowl. The chicken nachos, though, were awful: bland and with barely any chicken. I was there with some new acquaintances and forgot to take photos, so you’ll have to take my word for it. Those two stars are for the food.
Breakfast was meant to be included, but we didn’t see anyone or get coffee until late morning. The staff had also mixed up our reservation, and they weren’t friendly. Nobody brought fresh towels or checked whether we needed anything. Locals told me that poor service is just Panamanian culture. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Nady, the English-speaking woman with a shop in the parking area, was the bright spot. She was kind and helpful, translated for us, and made us smile. The apartment rental seems like a side business compared with the big parties and events. When we arrived, nobody knew what to do, and the woman who eventually showed us rooms found each one unclean. At night, karaoke parties and people yelling kept us awake. The apartment also had no kitchen or the other things advertised. Let Nady run the hotel :)
