Residencia de la Marina

The host was kind and really helpful, but his wife wasn't around, so there was no breakfast and we couldn't use the kitchen. I also suspect the rooms weren't cleaned between guests. The place may have been nice years ago, but it's worn down and seems to get no maintenance. For what it offers, it felt too expensive. Even the street sign captures the state of the hotel pretty well.

Fresh fruit and coffee made for a tasty breakfast, and we also enjoyed an Italian dinner with Italian wine. Massimo and Laura were warm and welcoming, and helped arrange several boat trips to other islands. Boca Chicca is ideally placed, just a few steps from the port where you can catch a boat to Boca Brava. We left with a very fond impression and hope to come back.

The rooms were clean, including the towels and bedding, and had what we needed to feel comfortable. Lara and Massimo put their hearts into the place. The dogs and cats were well cared for and came into the rooms because it was cooler there. Lara and Massimo had rescued them as abandoned puppies from the street. I don't understand the negative comments about the hosts. I saw people seem satisfied and then later write slanderous comments. Good luck to them in that hypocritical world. Maja & Olga

Our room was simple, but the air-conditioning worked really well. The hosts were lovely and helped us with everything. We really enjoyed staying here, and breakfast was so delicious that I'd say book it. I'd recommend the place to anyone staying in Boca Chica.
