We arrived at hotel pension corona at 6pm on 19th may and Doris checked us in. She took my ID, looked at the reservation I showed her, entered $24.75usd on the eftpos machine, charged us, and handed over a key. I didn't sign anything. Only today did I realise our booking was actually for hotel pension Andurina, around the corner. The two hotels have the same name, so it was an easy mistake for me to make. I wish Doris had pointed out that the booking was for Andurina and sent us there instead of charging us that booking's price for a room at corona. It felt creepy and strange to stay there, and the service seemed really unprofessional. As two young girls, we found the situation very uncomfortable, and staff offered no compensation. Our Andurina booking was non-refundable, so we're very disappointed and may end up paying for that room as well as this random room we never booked.

Awful place, and the neighborhood felt very dangerous. It was also super loud. Then, after checkout, they wanted $5 USD to store our luggage. Everywhere else does that for free. Outrageous.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff polite. The problems were the WiFi, which didn't work, and nothing was done after I told the staff. Hot water and decent pressure took about 10 minutes to come through in the shower. Also, whenever I went out, staff switched off the AC and didn't turn it straight back on when I returned.

The reception staff were really friendly, and the hotel was very clean. The area is Calidonia, but I still felt relatively safe. Getting around was okay, with two bus stops and a metro station about 500m away. Nights could be noisy, from traffic and what sounded like a washer or dryer running at 3am.

It's a cheap bed in a sketchy neighborhood, basically somewhere to crash. The AC worked and I didn't see any bugs, but don't expect anything nice unless you're willing to spend more and stay elsewhere. I wouldn't put much faith in those 5 star reviews.
