The beach location is great, right beside the waves, and Starfish Beach is a short walk or boat ride away. The boat costs $1.50 each way. The downsides: it’s an overpriced 3rd World experience. Water service runs out at like 10, and there’s a hose from a rainwater collector that isn’t connected to the showers. Good luck with that. Only 1-2 bathrooms are open at night, and the dorm is right above them, so there’s a bad smell in the morning. There’s no shared fridge or kitchen. The lights go out at midnight, taking Wi-Fi with them, and neither comes back until like 8. If you work remotely, good luck. Food is limited to breakfast for $6 and spaghetti for every other meal at $8. They have a captive audience. Go for one or two days to visit Starfish Beach. Take the white Boca Del Drago bus for $2.50 each way, since a taxi is $20-30, and bring your own food from town.
