Faranda Guayacanes

We didn't stay at the hotel, but couldn't help noticing how beautiful it was, with its old-fashioned style. The reason for the low room rating is that our friend's room was nothing like ours even though we both paid the same. Our room was for two guests but only had one of everything, not two.

The breakfast was good, and the place itself was very nice. My room, though, felt small.

The room looked much better online than it did in person. Mine was dark and gloomy, facing the car lot, and the door didn't have a proper security lock. It also felt far too expensive for what it was. I booked using 20,000 Choice Hotel points, which seems like a lot for this property. The front desk initially resisted honoring the points booking, though they eventually did, and then charged me $27.50 in US tax. I've never had that happen at any hotel where I've used points, regardless of brand. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you were desperate for somewhere to sleep.

The grounds are lovely, though getting around means dealing with all those steps. My room was really small and didn't feel like what I'd expect from a Radisson. The price seemed a bit high, so I have mixed feelings about the place.
