The pool is a big plus, and the location makes it easy to get into town or reach the tour offices. I stayed twice and felt safe both times, with CCTV in place. The kitchens are good, the lockers are large and secure, and the showers get properly hot. Just know the dorm is $15, reception closes at 9 pm, and weekends can get loud when local families come by to party around the pool. Sunday night through Thursday, you might have the hostel to yourself. I’d stay again, but would avoid the weekend if I wanted peace and quiet.

It was completely empty, with no other travelers and no workers around at night. The place felt really creepy and unsafe, since anyone could walk into the hostel. I wouldn’t book here.

The dorm smelled a bit, and being there alone as a solo traveler made the place feel really scary. There was no staff around, and it seemed like anyone could walk in during the night. I ended up leaving instead of sleeping there. I really don’t recommend staying here.

There was plenty of room, with a fan, chairs, a small table and a larger bench. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The kitchens were well stocked with a good selection of pots, pans and utensils, and the service was great. I’d definitely stay at the hostel again if I came back.

The owners were so welcoming, and every night we’d drink wine with them, play guitar and sing together. It was really sweet, with a great vibe and great people. This isn’t a party hostel, but the owners do make an effort to help guests mingle and make friends, so there are usually people keen to go out if you want to party. The communal kitchen is great and well equipped. Best hostel in South America!
