They were full when I wanted to stay, but the staff were very friendly and it’s in an excellent location. I did take their water taxi.

Really good value, with clean rooms and a great location. The staff are super friendly, and guests can use the kitchen. They can also arrange a boat driver to pick you up at their dock. I’d definitely recommend it.

We visited in September 2022 and had a great experience. The owner, staff and other guests were respectful and friendly, and the service was good. The owner recommended a restaurant nearby, where we had a great meal and found the people kind and welcoming to customers. From our window we could see it across the ocean view. We also met exchange students and people from the UK, Costa Rica and elsewhere, which was a lovely experience. It’s budget-friendly for anyone wanting to see Panama. We didn’t stay at El Jaguar, so I can’t speak to the rooms, but we booked two tours through them. The staff were helpful and very friendly. The owner was there both times, a really nice man who invited us to let him know if we needed anything. Both guides and boat captains were great, knew their stuff and handled the boats incredibly well.

The rooms had good air conditioning, and the nightly price was good. It’s centrally located, and the kitchen is basic but fine for simple meals. We visited in the off season, when several nearby hostels were renovating and could be noisy. That’s understandable when tourist numbers are so low.
