I stopped in for lunch and the food was great. It’s a classic, charming hotel, and the staff gave great service.

I came by to ask if they could make a martini at the rooftop bar. The bartender really tried, though she couldn’t quite get it right, partly because we were having trouble translating. It’s not a common drink in Las Tablas, so I was surprised they had vermouth outside Panama City, and their back liquor cabinet had quite a variety. Five stars for her effort and that lovely smile.

Back again in 2024 after my original post in 2022, and it’s still amazing. Absolutely recommend. After six weeks in hostels and remote workaways, Hotel Presidente felt like heaven, and the price was very reasonable. Early check-in was just $20. My room was huge, and the bathroom was spacious and clean, with beautiful marble tile. I could work on my laptop in the air-conditioned restaurant. The rooftop pool has bar service all day from the restaurant downstairs, and I was looking forward to spending the evening at the rooftop bar and pool. If you want a super comfortable stay in Las Tablas, I recommend this hotel. If you’re after somewhere rustic and local, look elsewhere. 😎

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the rooms were clean and fresh. There are a few local restaurants outside the hotel, with the plaza and park a short walk away. The town’s shopping area is a few streets over. This is the nicest hotel in the Las Tablas area, and we’d stay again without hesitation. A+.
