Casa Love by Wynwood House

The neighborhood felt a little sketchy and didn’t look especially safe, though the people around were generally nice and polite. Still, the state of the property made it hard to relax. I know it’s budget-friendly, so I wasn’t expecting luxury, but basic cleanliness and upkeep should be the minimum. I hope management takes the cleaning, pest control, and maintenance problems seriously. With some attention, the place could improve a lot. For now, I’d tell future guests to look elsewhere unless it’s been properly cleaned and maintained. You really get what you pay for. At Love Casa, things were already off to a bad start when we arrived. Bugs were on the bed and pillows, and there were visible urine stains in the toilet. The bathroom didn’t look like it had been thoroughly cleaned between guests. We also saw roaches in the kitchen more than once, so preparing or even storing food felt uncomfortable. The WiFi was very weak and barely reached one of the bedrooms, making it hard to get online or do any work.

We felt safe and comfortable here. Guests can get in easily, but the building is secure from “just anyone.” Communication with our contact was great, and I’m sure they would have helped if we’d asked for instructions for the induction stove and washer-dryer combos. I would’ve appreciated instructions, even in Spanish, lol. The apartment was lovely, with clean, spacious rooms, a comfortable bed, plenty of pillows, and a private bathroom and shower for each room. Internet was really good, except in the bedroom farthest from the unit, where the signal was a bit weak. We’d definitely come again!

The stay was really frustrating, and I wouldn’t come back. At first the hosts were accommodating, but that attentiveness faded by the end. The host offered to move us to a unit with a better view and a balcony, which we appreciated, but we could only stay there for two days because other guests had already booked it. In that unit, the WiFi didn’t reach the second bedroom, so I had to move my business matters into the living room to stay connected and handle them privately. After we returned to the original room, there was no electricity or hot water at all. Before the move, the hot water hadn’t been working properly when we arrived, and then the AC stopped working on the second day.

The location is awful, with high crime and no parking. The owner told us to park in a fenced, secure paid lot a block away, which meant walking back through a high-crime area. The building has been updated, at least.
