Dumas Villas

FLEA ALERT!! We arrived pretty late after a full day of travel and were exhausted. I noticed an itchy bite before bed, but figured it might have come from our earlier time in the jungle. I also spotted a little jumping insect, though I couldn't get a good look at it. By morning, all of us had very itchy bites on our legs and feet. I told the woman at the front desk, but she acted surprised. There's no way someone who stayed in the room before us wouldn't have noticed. We all had bites.

You get what you pay for, I guess. The villa was in a sketchy neighborhood and didn't feel secure. The front gates and back door were always open to anyone, and the room lock looked easy to jimmy. My reservation couldn't be found, and the fees weren't explained clearly. They charged $15 for the airport “shuttle,” while an Uber from the villa to the airport was $4.95. Mention Uber to Lady Dumas and you'll hear plenty of biased negative comments. The room was dirty and dusty, the TV didn't work, there were no shower towels, and I had no Wi-Fi signal in my room. One star for being close to a nice mall and the airport.

The online listing was misleading, and the price went up when I arrived, regardless of how cost efficient the place might be. It was comfortable enough for one night, but having to share the shower was a downside.

I liked the antique furniture, and it's close to metromall. But the place wasn't clean overall, and the air felt heavy for more than one reason.
