The room was tidy and spacious, and there were a couple of nice restaurants on the next street. When I arrived, there was no sign above the entrance, so I had to ask around. Some water was leaking in the bathroom, but staff fixed it quickly. It also wasn’t very quiet at night because of construction or maintenance work outside.

My plan was to stay for a week, but circumstances kept changing, and Manuel kindly extended my stay several times. I’ve been traveling full time for 10 years and have stayed in plenty of places, so this is an easy recommendation. Ibrais Hostal is in El Cangrejo, a neighborhood I liked, with metro access, cleanliness, and comfort. Most of all, it has a very kind and friendly family. This isn’t a hostel in the usual sense. The rooms are private and en suite, not a dorm with a bunch of bunk beds. Do yourself a favor and spend some time here. When you visit, say hola for me!

Top-notch service, they even met me at 8am and let me into my room six hours before check-in. It’s a comfortable hotel/hostel in the best section of Panamá City, near the metro, Via España, Vía Argentina, a very nice, active park, and tons of restaurants. Highly recommended.

Rooms are basic, but the prices are affordable. The location is central and quiet, the shower is good, and the AC works efficiently. Very nice hotel with fantastic staff.

The neighborhood feels safe, with lots of nice restaurants and cafés within walking distance. The staff were amazing and really helpful. Great hostel for the price, and I’d recommend it for a short stay in Panama City.
