La Cresta Inn

Everything felt old, and the dirty rooms and unpleasant smells made the stay uncomfortable. The hotel needs major work on cleanliness and upkeep. We ended up booking another hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend this one until it gets serious renovations.

The location was convenient, with plenty of restaurants and food nearby, but that was about the only real plus for us. The rooms were okay and looked clean, though we still killed around three little roaches during our stay. The showerhead came loose mid-shower and hit my head because of the water pressure. There were no towels after the last cleaning, so I had to ask for some because the housekeeper had forgotten to leave them. The room only worked with its single key, which was also needed for the elevator and every hotel door. If someone went out, they had to take it, leaving the rest of us without lights, AC, or TV. The front desk attendant, Steph, wasn’t very friendly and charged an extra $25 for our seven-year-old daughter, even though she shared a bed with my husband and me. The room had two double beds, so the charge confused us. It felt like a way to get more money. I can only give this hotel two stars.

The rooms are clean, the shower is great, and the staff are lovely. The outside doesn’t look fancy, to be fair. If you can find Dominique the taxi driver, he’s the best.

The breakfast had lots to choose from, and the women looking after it were really nice. That was the best part. The hotel was cheap, but that’s about the extent of the positives. Our room was large, though dated, and the toilet barely flushed. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly, either. There were used soaps left by the previous guests, and the sheets smelled damp. WiFi didn’t reach our fifth-floor room unless we left the door open to the corridor. After a long trip, the receptionist made us feel like every question was a bother and she wanted to get rid of us. I didn’t enjoy the stay.
