After our train was delayed, we arrived exhausted to find that Horizon Adventures had told two women who barely knew each other that we'd have separate rooms. Instead, the hotel said we had to share a room and a bed. I felt for James at reception, but the hotel was full and he couldn't help. Thankfully, the room did have twin beds. Avoid the 5th floor. The kitchen and restaurant are directly above on the 6th, with no insulation. Dishwashing noise was deafening until after midnight, then started again at 4am. I think I got maybe 90 minutes of sleep. The whole place felt unsettled and angry. The commercialism was horrendous, and the lack of smiles, warmth, or recognition of the sacred really hurt my heart. Seeing so much profiteering was shocking and sickening.

The room was tiny and dirty, with a cracked window facing the elevator shaft. Through the curtains I could see the elevator moving, and the walls were so thin that sounds carried from all over the hotel. Around 4am, banging and crashing woke us up, possibly from the kitchen preparing breakfast. There was no AC, fan, or proper window, so the room became hot and stuffy, smelled musty and gross, and there was nothing we could do. In the morning, a giant spider was crawling over our clothes. Our tour company made us stay here on our last night, and it ruined the trip. This was the worst hotel experience of my life, a pathetic excuse for a "boutique hotel". Stay somewhere else.

We spent one night here at the end of our Salkantay trekking tour. The sheets had bloodstains and the towels were stained and in poor condition, just disgusting. The room window was broken, so you could literally touch the elevator shaft. I could watch the elevator going up and down through the curtains, and the walls were so thin you could hear everything.

Don't expect much service here. The front desk was unattended for hours, with no number to call and nobody to reach. I rang the bell for a while and got no one. At check-in, the toilet hadn't been flushed, which made me wonder if they clean them between guests. The rooms are small, and one we had touched the elevator shaft with no outside window. The second floor was very loud from the check-in area and outside. The shower was great, and the rooms are fine if priced accordingly, but set your standards pretty low.

This hotel is incredibly noisy, and the rooms weren't especially clean. Breakfast was disappointing too. We did run out of hot water, but to their credit they fixed it within 30 minutes. It seems to do a lot of business through trekking companies, and it's just about okay for a quick overnight if you're leaving early. Outside that situation, I'd avoid it.
