For about 50 soles per person, it's a good budget choice for one night before heading to Machu Picchu early the next day. The beds are comfortable, there's hot water, breakfast, and even TV. They'll store your big luggage while you visit the ruins, so you can pick it up on your way back down.

The walls are paper thin, so you hear everything. Around 10 pm one night, while we were trying to sleep, the receptionist was drinking with friends in the lobby, talking loudly and playing loud music. When we went down and asked them to turn it down, he yelled at us aggressively and demanded to know our room number. His friends had to tell him to calm down. The front desk was often empty when we needed fresh towels or help with something. And we only had cold water in the shower, the hot water didn't work.

The manager was extremely rude, the rooms smelled like boiled cabbage, and there was a lot of noise outside, so don't stay here if you need an early night before Machupicchu. At twice the price of a $10-a-night hostel, this is very poor value. Customer satisfaction clearly isn't a concern. We probably won't be back. Be warned.

For a cheap place, it still wasn't worth the price. Street noise kept us awake until 24.00, and construction noise started in the afternoon. The room, especially the blankets, smelled damp, and there was little to no hot water.

The breakfast was extremely basic: jam, bread, and bananas, and I had to specifically ask for coffee. There wasn't even a slice of processed ham or cheap cheese. On top of that, there was no hot water in the tab, barely any toilet paper, and the place had a bleak Soviet grey look. The noise was awful too, apparently because of the nearby football stadium. Local people seemed to play the game, or pretend to, all night, with loud music and dancing. Hard to forget, but I wouldn't recommend it.
