Our room had a beautiful view of the river, though you could hear it loudly when the windows were open. The room was modern and cleaned every day. Since we were setting off early to hike the Inca trail, they gave us a bagged breakfast. It’s close to the bus terminal.

They gave us three single beds instead of a double and a single. Our room faced the river, which made for a nice view, but it was loud, especially with the window open. Check-in, check-out, breakfast, and storing our bags while we were up in Machu Picchu were all fine. The buses weren’t too far away.

Our Inca Trail tour company booked this hotel, and it was the one part of an otherwise fabulous trip that spoiled the experience. I wouldn’t recommend it to friends or family. We were right beside the train tracks. You hear and feel each passing train, although everything else is a short walk away. Our room was small and faced an inner hallway by the elevator. Opening that window didn’t make sense, and outside windows have no bug screens despite how bad the mosquitos are in Aguas Calientes. The bigger issue was the lack of ventilation. There was no bathroom fan or other way to move air, so after a shower the room got hot, stuffy, and humid. We ended up leaving the door ajar to the hallway for airflow. There wasn’t even a hair dryer. The front desk service seemed fine, but nothing special. My only feedback to the tour company would be not to book this place for guests again.

A little gem around the Machu Pichu area. The linen and breakfast were high quality, and the juices were freshly squeezed.

We had a lovely stay, and I only heard one train despite the tracks being just steps away, so I must have slept through the rest. The bed was lovely and comfortable, and the view was beautiful. I wish we could have opened the huge window to hear the River outside, but Staff warned us about mosquitos. A net on the window could make a big difference. It would be relaxing to lie in bed with the view and the sound of the River, so Hotel Management should consider it. There was no kettle or Hair Dryer. To get a hot drink, you have to go downstairs and make one at the Reception Desk, which is awkward when you’re already dressed for bed. You can’t make drinks in your room, and that also means you can’t use bottled water you know is safe. The hot water in the thermal dispenser downstairs could be tap water.
