I booked after reading the good reviews, and still can't understand the praise. We were there for just one night before an early trip to Machu Picchu. The thin walls let us hear everything from the corridor and the room upstairs, so I barely slept an hour. The room wasn't clean either: stained sheets with hair on them, and within ten minutes we'd found five bugs, including a huge spider on the pillow. I wouldn't recommend staying, even for one night.

The breakfasts deserve a special mention: fresh, generous, and delicious, with a young woman serving them who was both friendly and professional. We were also welcomed with real warmth, and the smiling manager was always around. Everyone was kind, ready to help with advice about the region and make sure things were going smoothly. We felt more like friends than guests. Our room was spacious, very clean, and nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed, good bedding, and a well-equipped bathroom. It was a pleasure to come back after sightseeing. This hotel added a lot to our Peru trip. We'd recommend it to anyone after a comfortable, well-kept place with genuinely caring staff.

On arrival, one of the front desk staff met us at the train station and walked our bags over. We were very happy with our choice during an already chaotic visit to Machu Picchu. Then, on the day of the fatal train accident, my husband and I spent much of the day in the lobby waiting for the tracks to reopen. Other guests booked another night and went upstairs, but we were determined to try to leave that night. The staff never told us to get a room or leave. They said we could stay in the lobby as long as we needed, brought us comforters, and showed us to a quieter back corner with a long couch bench and a pull-out chair bed where we could rest. We eventually left around 2am. They were real angels in a stressful moment, and that kind of care meant a lot to us. ❤️

The walk from the train station depends on where the train lets you off. From the main station it's short, but we arrived down the hill and had more of a climb. They offered to meet us at the station on foot if we shared our train times, though they didn't confirm where or how, so we just walked to the hotel. No big deal. The rooms were clean and modern, with a great shower and a hot tub in the room. Breakfast was excellent, the location was convenient, and it was great value. Best hotel of our Peru trip.

Nothing fancy, just a clean, comfortable hotel right in Aguas Calientes. The included breakfast started at 5:00, which worked well for an early trip up to Machu Picchu. We also got a lot of work done on the great wifi while waiting for our train after check-out.
