We stayed one night, and the sheets were dirty. We reported that there was no warm water, and the receptionist agreed to check. They confirmed warm water was available, but when we returned to the room, the water was still cold.

I stayed one night with friends before our day trip to Machu Picchu. When we returned to the hotel on Wednesday March 25 at 12:00, we spoke with Lorena at the front desk and asked for a massage recommendation. She sent us to Amaya Inka Spa. Someone from the spa came to get us. We were quoted 50 soles each for three one-hour foot massages, 150 soles total. I checked 50 soles on my currency converter and showed it to her, and she agreed that was the price. After the massage, she said it was $50 each, or $150 USD. I asked her to call our hotel for help, and with me, Lorena, and Katherine at the massage place, we negotiated it down to 80 soles each, 240 soles total. We paid in cash, and she seemed satisfied, but this was clearly a scam. It’s obvious to me that Lorena, the front desk worker at Hotel Wirachocha who recommended Amaya Inka Spa, was in on it with them. It’s really disappointing not to be able to trust hotel staff for recommendations. I’d stay away from this hotel because the front desk are scammers. The photos show the woman at the spa who scammed us.

Avoid this place at all costs. The floors were extremely dirty, there was no hot water for shaving or showering, the TV didn’t work, and the noise from the bars was ridiculous. An absolute dump of a hotel.

I was booked into this room through my group tour and had no complaints. It was clean and safe, with a wonderfully hot shower. Breakfast was pretty good too.

The lobby was dirty, with construction material right at the entrance, and the staff didn’t seem to care about anything. Breakfast and service were horrible, and they didn’t even change the towels. The rooms were much smaller than the pictures showed, and the bathrooms were horrible. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. I’m not picky and can accept some things, but this was a very bad stay. The hotel has an F. If you’ve already booked, good luck. I hope people read this before booking.
