We come back for the generous plates and the wonderful oasis. The grilled chicken is tasty, the steaks are terrific, and the thin crust pizza is great too.

Staying here feels like being in a private home, which makes the accommodation quite unique. Though it's right on the main road from Iquitos to Nanay, the house is surrounded by Amazonian nature. We were lucky to spend time talking about cinema with Walter, our very kind host, including the famous film that brought worldwide attention to Iquitos. We're grateful to Walter and his staff for their hospitality. We'll never forget the stay.

There are hammocks, WiFi, lovely music, good food, and excellent juices in this beautiful garden with a swimming pool. Entry costs 12 soles, and it's well worth it. I also recommend breakfast: homemade bread, cheese, ham and jam, coffee and juice, plus delicious fried eggs. The whole setting feels like a little glimpse of heaven.

The prices have risen drastically in a year, but it's still a lovely, relaxing place to spend an afternoon. The drinks are cold and the food is good. The pool is beautiful, though the surrounding vegetation keeps it a little cool. For four people, food, drinks, and pool entry came to around 200 sole.
