The location is alright, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. My room had no windows, the walls were thin, and the toilet had no extractor fan. Breakfast was poor, and they charged me to use the hair dryer. There was just one woman handling everything, from answering calls and checking guests out to making breakfast and washing dishes.

The location is good, and the shower had hot water. Breakfast was good too, and the room was alright, though we could hear everything outside. Prices around Aguas Calientes are high, but the reception guy still booked us a colectivo to Cusco at a terrible rate. Book it yourselves.

Our tour guide arranged this hotel, so we didn't choose it ourselves. The toilet leaked onto the floor, the shower was either cold or freezing, and the beds felt like rocks. If you need somewhere cheap and aren't set on comfort, go ahead. Otherwise, I'd pay extra for somewhere better.

The breakfast was good and ready early, which was handy before heading up to Machu Picchu. The place is fine for a night or two before a trek, but nothing special. Staff weren't very friendly or helpful. Check-in was listed as noon, yet when we arrived at 1:40pm, the room still wasn't ready and we were told to wander around for just over an hour.

As a solo traveler, I found the room more than enough, and the price was hard to beat. The front desk service was excellent, thanks Alejandro! If I come back to try Machu Picchu again, I'll stay at Illary.
