The breakfast was amazing and healthy, and I really enjoyed staying here. Two lovely sisters welcome you into their Peruvian home and make you feel at home too. It’s about a 30-minute walk to the center, though taxis are easy to catch, and walking gives you a chance to see more of the city. The hosts are happy to help and have good tour advice. It’s a special place.

We ended up joining Vicky for lunch once, and it was really tasty. We first got in touch by email after other travelers recommended the place, and were glad she had a room. It felt welcoming right away, with a nice atmosphere and spots to relax. Vicky and Mirita are lovely, and we enjoyed chatting with them in Spanish for practice. Breakfast together was a treat too, with local cheese, olives, and coffee Vicky roasted with Jesse. There’s a garden full of herbs and peppers, plus a tomato de arbol tree. Vicky gave us great ideas for things to do around Cajamarca and took us to the farmers market and ceramic workshop. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone after a warm, local experience.

The neighborhood felt safe to walk around at any hour, even though this traditional Cajamarca house is a bit far from the city center. Mirita is a wonderful person and made me feel at home.

Vicky and Mirita made this a really welcoming, friendly homestay. I’d strongly recommend it if you want an authentic Peruvian experience away from Cajamarca’s touristy center. Touring cyclists can bring their bikes too, and there’s outdoor space for cleaning and tinkering.

The coffee they roast and grind themselves was the best we’d ever had, and breakfast was fantastic. We felt at home at « la casa Mirita », where everyone was so lovely and looked after us. They also gave us lots of useful tips for our trip around Peru. Definitely the best place we stayed in Peru. Thanks again for being so kind! Damien & Audrey
