Hotel Los Nogales

I left the hotel unhappy. On my last morning, after breakfast, a woman came quickly around a corner carrying a food tray and collided with me. Juice and something else spilled all over my clothes. I was backpacking with very few clothes, and the pants and long-sleeved shirt I had on were my only clean ones. They'd been washed by the hotel laundry the day before, and since I was leaving town that morning, I couldn't get them washed again. The hotel was generally nice, with friendly staff, hot water, breakfast, and decent beds. Breakfast was very basic: one scrambled egg, two pieces of bread, juice, and coffee. Getting the shower water to a comfortably warm temperature took longer than the shower itself.

The building is really noisy. The walls seem thin and poorly insulated, and the tile floors may add to it. You can hear people talking, playing music, or moving furniture in rooms and hallways, which is disruptive when it happens early or late. The location isn't ideal for visitors, though Plaza de Armas is around a 15-minute walk away, public buses stop a few blocks away at the Inca circle, and Real Plaza Mall is about a 10-minute walk. The staff are very friendly, and the hotel has a great breakfast.

I loved Cajamarca and will definitely come back after the warm hospitality I received here. The staff were always attentive to what I needed, and I'm grateful to them for that. The area is peaceful and made for a restful stay. Our room was very clean, with a lovely view of the park, and the breakfasts made with local Cajamarca products were fantastic. Thank you for such a wonderful stay and service.
