Hostel Puno Backpackers

The room was awful: the bed was rock hard, the bathroom smelled of poo, and people smoked in the corridors, so the whole place stank. Check-in was a mess too. We stood in the rain for ages before anyone answered the door, then they couldn’t find our booking and said we didn’t have one. We’d booked two rooms for two couples, but they first tried to put all four of us in one room and charge us double. Eventually they gave us rooms, but after dinner they said they’d assigned the wrong ones and had accidentally given us a private bathroom. Since we’d already used the room, they tried to charge us extra. I don’t recommend this place at all.

The host was welcoming and understanding, which made my few nights here enjoyable enough for me to leave a good review. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the price was affordable. There’s a basic kitchen, and the solar-powered shower was really impressive. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The host was lovely and helped with everything we needed. We could check in super early and leave our bags for a few days, so I’d definitely recommend this budget-friendly place. It has a kitchen, hot water and an okay bed. There isn’t much atmosphere, and it’s a bit of a walk to town, but neither bothered us.

The room was good, but the bathroom needs to be cleaner, or at least whatever’s causing the smell needs attention.
