The owner was helpful and patient when we arrived late, and helped with our luggage. The price was good, and it’s acceptable for one night if you keep the windows shut to block construction noise, dust, and insects. The hotel was only okay for cleanliness, with construction next door. The lady owner came across as mean and gave mediocre service. Breakfast ends at 8 am to fit her schedule, and even asking for an extra glass of hot water could become a big deal. I’ve traveled widely and rarely met someone with such a sensitive attitude about running a hotel. Still, I understand she also has a young child to care for alongside the hotel.

The room was very clean, and there was a hot shower. Staff were really nice and helpful. Breakfast starts at 5am, so you can eat before heading to Machu Picchu. I also saw them prepare takeaway breakfast for guests leaving earlier. They let me leave a bag there to pick up after my hike. Very nice people.

The owner and her family were very friendly, and I’d definitely stay here again. They rescued us when we were stranded in this small town at 22:00 after the nearby hotel, machu picchu magna, changed its owner and name and wouldn’t honor our reservation. Well worth every cent for the night we had to spend in machu picchu.
