The large, comfortable rooms and nice breakfast made this a great choice for a night or two, and the service is excellent. It's very convenient for the railway station, an 8-minute walk, and the bus to Machu picchu, 3 minutes away. You can leave luggage in storage free of charge. There's no vehicle access, so it's not a good fit if you're carrying lots of luggage. Excellent value for money.

I got sick after losing sleep from the cold and the noise of neighbors outside the hotel. The heating went off around 1-2 a.m. on both nights of my stay, leaving the room freezing. This wasn't just a one-off case of “late maintenance.” I asked the front desk lady for an electric heater, but she ignored me and never replied. The lack of communication is what upset me most. Even if no heater was available, she could have apologized instead of making my request seem unreasonable. A basic acknowledgment would have been courteous. She should have apologized on behalf of the hotel for the inconvenience. If the manager thinks this was somehow my fault, I'm open to discussing it further. I can't reply directly to your response, so I'll keep posting as needed until you and your staff apologize for the rudeness and discomfort during my stay.

This was the most affordable decent-looking option I found, and it worked for the one or two nights I needed a place to sleep. I paid $44 USD or 150 PEN per night. The Machu Picchu train station is a 5-minute walk away, and the bus stop for Machu Picchu is 4 minutes away. I just needed a bed and a decent bathroom, and it had both.

The window looked onto a neighboring house, where people cooked and talked loudly until 3 a.m. Heating was meant to run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., but it didn't come on until around 11 p.m. and was already off by 2 a.m. When I complained and requested an electric heater, the front desk staff ignored me completely and didn't respond. It was an extremely disappointing stay, noisy and cold, with poor management.
