Amantani Lodge

We stayed in May 2024, and the room was clean and just right. Henry and Maryluz were such kind hosts, and they made us really delicious meals. Highly recommend.

The night sky was the best I've ever seen, and the view from the lodge was incredible. Our room was great too, with hot water, clean towels, comfortable mattresses, and warm duvets for the cold. Henry and Mariluz were so helpful with transport and anything else we needed, and the meals were a real highlight. Their hospitality made the stay feel comfortable and warm. For booking and logistics, I'd get in touch with Henry directly. He's the best. Amantani Lodge was a dream, and I highly recommend it.

We skipped a tour and weren't sure at first how to reach the island. In the end, we bought a one-way ticket on a tourist boat. For the return, we took the 45-minute boat to Playa Chifron, which leaves every hour, then a collectivo to Capachica and another to Juliaca. Henri and Mariluz helped us arrange it all. We really enjoyed visiting on our own and would recommend doing that. The island is beautiful, with a circular walk and two temples you can hike up to, plus a small square for coffee or a glass of wine. Our stay at Amantani Lodge was fantastic. Henri and Mariluz were among the kindest people we've met while traveling, always warm and helpful. Mariluz cooked delicious food, and we loved talking with them over meals.

We stayed three nights and could easily have stayed longer. Amantani and our hosts, Mariluz and Henry, gave us the most peaceful, relaxing time of our six weeks in Peru. It's a place where everything slows down and you can properly unwind. The lodge is uphill, but Henry kindly carried our luggage. Mariluz is a lovely host and cook, with a great sense of humor, and they both really tried to accommodate my husband's gluten-free needs. They were caring and helpful throughout. Our room and bathroom were spotless. There's no room heating, but the small heater they gave us was enough at bedtime. A five-star stay!
