The staff were incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming, and the location is very central. Breakfast was great, with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, bread, and a meat-and-rice main dish; eggs were available if you asked. The whole place was quiet, perhaps because I visited off-season, and had vivid colors and a lovely green garden. My room was clean and spacious, and I enjoyed watching the sunset from the terrace just above it. There was a hot water issue that was promptly fixed. It might have been my mistake, as I was probably turning on the cold tap instead of the hot one. It was a really pleasant stay.

We found Casa de Avila Hotel an easy walk from the central plaza and liked it enough to book another 2 nights for when we return from Colca Canyon. The hotel is very nice, with a garden in the middle, and our queen single room was great. Breakfast was included. We booked through Peru Hop, the tour bus company we used.

The central garden, with its trees, flowers, seating, and other touches, is a lovely, peaceful spot that all the rooms face. We had a great stay, with comfortable rooms and beds. The bathroom had excellent hot water and pressure. Breakfast came with coffee, tea, fruit, fresh juices, continental items, eggs made to order, and a different hot item each day. We'd definitely stay here again.

The staff have been excellent, and otherwise the place is great. My room is on the first floor beside the courtyard. My only complaint is how easily I hear people talking as they walk past, almost as if they're in the room, which makes it hard to sleep.

The weak Wi-Fi and dated rooms didn’t feel worth the price, especially for anyone hoping to check in early. Staff weren’t very attentive, and the location isn’t ideal. In my opinion, there are plenty of better choices around town.
