El Balcon Hostal Turistico

We landed here at the last minute after the hostel we'd booked fell through, and wow, we got lucky. The old building has so much class, my boyfriend and I kept stopping to admire it. The rooms were nice too, and the service was attentive. Breakfast came with the stay, was amazing, and they were always happy to serve us. Arequipa is somewhere we'll come back to, and we'd stay here again. It cost a little more than we'd hoped, but it was worth it. Treat yourself. The location's great too!

The house is beautiful, the place is cozy, the staff are good, and the WiFi worked well. My experience was good, but there's plenty that needs attention. Room maintenance is needed, and hot water only seemed to work if you were the first to shower at 5am. The cleaning staff kept missing something in the bathroom: soap on day one, towels on day two, toilet paper on day three. Breakfast tasted good but was slow, and I often had to remind the waiter about my order. It's a nice place, but a hotel shouldn't leave you without hot water or make you ask reception for towels.

A lovely, clean hotel with friendly staff and owner. Breakfast was delicious, and it's near arequipa plaza. The price was pretty low too, around 30sol/person.

I was on my own, and the room suited one person perfectly. It was peaceful, spotless, and the staff were very attentive; breakfast was substantial as well. The main square is about a 5-8 minute walk away. I would have liked to be closer, but the service and quality more than make up for that. I felt safe walking around, even at night, and was delighted with the place.
