My friend and I booked that morning because the price and central Arequipa location seemed convenient. Within five minutes, we knew we'd made a bad choice. I would have given it zero stars if that had been an option. The room looked clean at first, but the floors under the bed seemed untouched for months, and there were rubbish bags tucked on the floor. There weren't even trash cans in the room. The toilet was leaking, leaving a huge puddle on the floor. When we told the staff, they mopped it, looked at the tank, and walked away after saying to wait a minute. They didn't explain that their fix was to turn off the flush. The next morning I used the toilet and it wouldn't flush. At that point, the sink was the only thing working, and honestly it would have been more hygienic to use that. The internet was awful too. Concrete walls around the hostel meant my mobile data managed only 1 Mb/s, or 3 Mb/s on a good stretch, and it kept dropping. The Wi-Fi sometimes reached 3-5 Mb/s, but was often down at 0.1 Mb/s, so slow I couldn't even run a speed test or look up ways to improve the connection. After all that, we wanted to switch hostels and get our money back, but the owner refused. We stayed the night, knowing we'd only have to put up with one night there.

Breakfast wasn't what we'd been promised, and there was no hot water. From the beginning the service was awful, with a receptionist who seemed uncomfortable and didn't respond. A really bad stay.

It's only three blocks from the main square, but the service doesn't justify the price. The old, cramped room had an uncomfortable bed, and nobody cleaned it. We had to ask for towels. They said there was hot water at check-in, but there wasn't.

The taxi driver recommended this place, but the room quality was nowhere near worth what they charged. There was no manager in charge, and my bill wasn't sent on time. A very poor experience.

For work, the single room is comfortable enough for a stay of up to two days, and the place is quiet at night. It's around 400 meters from the main square. Breakfast is included: two rolls, butter, jam, an egg, tea, and pineapple juice. The price is reasonable, though cable TV is only average and there's no parking. They provide just soap and one towel. I'd recommend it.
