The room was clean and private, with a big desk that worked well for getting things done. There’s a supermarket about a 6 minute walk away, and the area is quiet and peaceful. There’s also a parking garage, and the staff were friendly. Check-in was easy and professional at the front desk. I really dislike places calling themselves hotels when they’re just Airbnbs in disguise and you have to hunt for a key. This one has a real front desk and isn’t like that.

The staff were kind and went out of their way to help when my girlfriend got sick. We spent a lot of time in Arequipa and checked out many hotels and hostels, and this place was far nicer and cleaner than anything else in its price range. It’s not right in the center, but close enough. It was quiet even with construction across the street. The WiFi was good, breakfast was nice with eggs, bread, and coffee, the beds were comfortable, and the water was warm. We’d definitely stay again.

They let us arrive around 6 a.m., sleep for a few hours, have breakfast, then move to our permanent room. After checkout, we could come back and shower for about 25 soles before our night bus, which was great. Breakfast was good, including eggs. I would have liked Mandala more if the beds were firmer and there had been a way to warm up the room. A fair number of pilots or lower-level military seem to stay here regularly. Maybe that’s why we got interior rooms, where the window faced another room's window.
