Peter's Hostel

We stayed a week because it was comfortable and the staff were so good. The hostel is in the heart of the old town, close to shops, restaurants, and other facilities, though weekends can get a bit loud. There’s a nice terrace and a comfortable TV room downstairs where you can relax or work. The bathrooms were clean and functional, with hot showers. The kitchen was okay, though the utensils could be newer. The staff were helpful and attentive, and I could easily have considered them friends. Thanks for the stay.

I’d definitely recommend this hostel. It’s clean and has everything you need, and we loved the large rooftop terrace. The location was great too. Daniel was there for us whenever we needed help, whether that meant arranging transport or a trip, or just chatting about Peru. He speaks fluent English, which isn’t that common in Peru. Don’t hesitate to book.

We spent five days here. The place is simple, but very good value for money, and breakfast is available too. The location is very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. When there was a water outage in Arequipa, they quickly found solutions.

After 6.5 months of backpacking, this was the worst hostel I’ve stayed in. They overcharged me and misrepresented the exchange rate. Even after I showed them the national exchange rate online, they refused to charge the amount I’d agreed to when booking. The beds were filthy, the blankets smelled, and staff refused to give me clean ones. The place felt unsanitary. The WiFi didn’t work, so I couldn’t hold a phone call or use Google. Staff woke me several times for no reason, which left me with no privacy. They were incredibly rude and disrespectful. When I raised complaints, they argued with me and said I was wrong. I strongly recommend staying away.
