A lovely family-run hostel, and the position is just right: you walk through the market on the way to the main Plaza. The breakfast is worth adding too. This was the best place to stay in Cajamarca for us. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Carlos was such a relaxed, attentive host and had lots of useful tips for where to travel next. I arrived alone on my bike and soon got to know a really nice couple from Austria. The hostel was just what I'd hoped to find as a traveller. It was good value, and I'd definitely pay for the extra breakfast. Having a kitchen guests could use to cook their own food was especially helpful for saving money as a backpacker, since places with that option seem fairly uncommon in Peru.

We booked four nights and ended up staying more than a week. Carlos and his family made us feel very welcome, and even the friendly dogs next door at his parents' place were part of the charm. Carlos looked after us during the city carnival, gave us loads of useful advice, and even came along when I needed to see a dentist. He also works as a tour guide and took us on some lovely, individually planned tours for less than we would have paid elsewhere. The breakfasts changed each day and were delicious and filling. Our double room had an ensuite, a good-sized bathroom with hooks for towels and wash bags, and a bedroom that was just right, with shelves, bedside tables, lamps and a bin. The TV had cable and Netflix was already logged in, though we didn't use it. There were plenty of shared spaces, including the breakfast area, plus a well-equipped kitchen with a table and a couple of chairs. Carlos was a wonderful and attentive host.

Carlos, the manager, was a legend and always ready to help make our time at the hostel and in Cajamarca comfortable. The hostel itself is small and friendly, set in a quiet part of town, with the center about a 15-minute walk away. It was clean throughout, the beds were comfortable, and there was a well-equipped kitchen for cooking along with a common space to chat with other travellers. Breakfast was decent. I stayed six nights and only wish I'd had longer.

The rooms are clean and roomy while still feeling cosy, and the beds are really comfortable. Carlos, the owner, is kind and runs the hostel well. He was happy to answer questions and offer recommendations. Thanks, Carlos :)
