Maria was always around when we had questions, and the bed was comfortable. It’s a no-frills hotel with parking available, set on a shady street near the central square. The rooms are nicer than the lobby, and it’s a good option for this town.

We could easily have stayed more than our two nights. The family running the place were lovely, and the woman was especially helpful with trip ideas, viewpoints, restaurants, and anything else we asked. Our room had everything we needed, including hot water and a portable heater, and we could have tea whenever we wanted. Breakfast was made with care and gave us a good start before hiking. I’d happily recommend it.

The bed was the highlight, really large and comfortable, with good linens and a quality duvet. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was freshly made. The hotel is basic and feels dated, with peeling paint at the front and old, dirty carpets. Our room seemed to have had only a surface clean: the sheets were spotless, but dust covered the bathroom door. Since we were the only guests in December, we felt £25 was a bit much for what it was, though it could work if you’re looking for a cheaper place.

The room was comfortable, and the receptionist was friendly. It’s an easy walk to both the bus terminal and plaza de armas, which made the location ideal for our stay in Chivay. I’d recommend it.
