The location is good, with shops and laundry nearby, and it’s a seven-minute walk to the centre. The staff were lovely, and breakfast had plenty of choice.

The breakfasts were really good, and I found the location fine at night. It’s on a quiet street, but there were usually a few people around, and Cusco felt pretty safe to me. It’s also about a 10-minute walk to the Intrepid office. The room was tidy and the bed was comfortable enough, but getting proper sleep was another story. Our window looked onto the atrium, the outlet was loose in the wall, and the thin walls let us hear our neighbors using the bathroom. There was noise on the stairs and in the lobby as early as 3-5am. On Fridays and Saturdays, the place next door played music until very late. I could feel the bass through the bed, and earplugs didn’t help. I was worn out and hoping to rest before my 3 day hike, but that didn’t really happen. Intrepid travelers arriving early may want to sleep somewhere else first. There’s Wi-Fi and purified water in the central seating area, though nobody mentioned the water, so I bought some on my first day. Toiletries are just bar soap and shampoo packets, so bring conditioner if you use it. This feels like a two-star hotel.

The staff were a real help, including storing our cases while we went on local tours. Breakfast was great, with eggs made to order and plenty of choice, and the location made it easy to get around central Cusco. I stayed once on an organized tour, then booked a few extra nights on my own. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Since they’re arranged around a central courtyard, some noise carries, though it wasn’t too bad.

For the price, this was my best stay in Cusco, thanks to the room, the varied breakfast, and the staff. Sabi at reception, Cesar, and everyone else were warm and friendly. The woman making breakfast cooked me delicious eggs, though I forgot to ask her name. I’m a light sleeper and had barely rested during my previous two stays in noisy Cusco hotels. I told Sabi before booking that I wanted somewhere quiet, and she put me in a corner room on the fourth floor. I could hardly hear the street, and only caught a little noise from the lobby. My only suggestion is to offer guests filtered drinking water as well as hot water.
