Andean Atoq Hostel

The hostel is about a ten-minute walk from the central plaza. It's next to the train line, but trains weren't frequent enough for noise to be an issue. Our room was very clean and spacious, and the included breakfast was decent. The pizza restaurant upstairs is top notch, too. We had a comfortable stay at Hostel Andean Atoq. The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and let us leave our luggage in the morning when we arrived very early in Cusco. We'd happily stay again and recommend it to others.

The staff were rude and didn't seem willing to help, even when I asked for hot water to make tea. The hostel doesn't feel prepared for tourists. Breakfast is advertised as included, but it was only bread and one egg, with a charge of 2 soles for an extra egg. The train passes by often and makes noise, so I found the location bad. I needed to extend my stay by just a few hours, but was charged for a whole night despite several rooms being empty.

For a hostel price, I got a private room with its own bathroom, basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were kind and attentive, and breakfast was simple, with lovely fresh juice in the morning. It's an easy 1 km walk from the square and 500 m from San Pedro Market, with eateries, grocery stores, and historic centre attractions nearby. This place was an absolute steal!

The hosts were kind and helpful, even with our limited Spanish. They helped us arrange our hiking tours and called the tour agencies to check pick-up times. We spent two nights in a room with a double bed. It was clean and the shower had hot water. A very good hostel with awesome people, we'd definitely recommend it.
