Casa Cartagena Boutique Hotel & Spa

We spent four nights at Casa Cartagena, two before our tour to acclimate and two afterward to unwind. Room #7 was comfortable for the first part, and when we returned we had room 10, a very spacious suite in the quietest spot. A real gem. Each time we arrived, the welcome tea was a perfect blend for altitude and stomach distress, and helped us relax and feel energized. Fernando introduced us to the nightly happy hour Pisco Sours, and was attentive in the in-house restaurant too. We had the complimentary breakfast each morning, with lots of delicious local choices, and ate dinner there twice in an amazing atmosphere. The pool and steam room were relaxing and therapeutic. After hiking, a massage with Olga was just what my tired muscles needed. She was professional and attentive to what my body needed. The spa attendant also brought tea and set out towels, helping make it a relaxing experience. The location makes it easy to reach Cusco's main attractions, and airport transport was complimentary. The knowledgeable drivers got us through the busy city traffic both ways. Farid at the front desk handled all our requests and needs. A genuine asset to Casa C. It's a boutique hotel gem, choose Casa Cartagena!

My top choice for a place to stay in Cusco, and I'd definitely return. I'd give it 10/10 in every respect. The one “negative” for me was that the sauna temperature felt too mild.

We had a great stay at Casa Cartagena. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the food was amazing, from breakfast to room service. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

My best friend and I stayed here for her 50th birthday, and the hotel made her feel special from the start. When I booked, they asked if we were celebrating anything. I told them, and they immediately asked if I preferred a basket or a complimentary bottle for our arrival. I asked for a birthday dessert after dinner instead. On the evening we celebrated, they brought a beautiful slice of cake with a candle and happy birthday written on it, and even sang. After our long travel day, a courteous, professional front desk staff member greeted us with the news that we'd been upgraded for her birthday. It was a great start to the trip. I chose the hotel partly for its lush, beautiful landscape and layout, which felt peaceful amid the city's busy streets and brick buildings. It's close to Plaza de Armas but far enough away to keep the noise out. Our rooms were immaculate, and they refreshed the complimentary water bottles daily. Staff at the hotel and restaurant were friendly and made sure we had what we needed. After our Rainbow Mountain excursion, traffic made us late for a 7pm massage. We called around 6 to ask if it could be moved to 7:30pm, and they got back to us promptly and accommodated us. After another long day out, the massage, hot pool, and sauna were just what we needed. I loved the attention to detail, from welcome tea in beautiful pottery and a chocolate plate with a welcome note in the room to the care they showed for our well-being. My friend and I felt special from the moment we arrived. I'd stay here again. Thank you, Casa Cartagena!
