The neighborhood is noisy, with construction work, and there's no elevator, even though breakfast is on the 5th floor. The sheets were old and had tiny holes. We also had no hot water despite booking the spa bath, and the staff did nothing to help. They even suggested we didn't know how to turn the faucet properly. Better to avoid.

We arrived with a group of 12 and had booked six rooms, but checked out the same day. Every bathroom and ceiling had mold, and they seemed to have painted over it to hide it. The rooms were miserably cold with no heaters, some lights didn't work, and each room smelled like old fish grease. You had to let the water run for five minutes before getting hot water. The internet photos were very deceptive. Inside and out, it looked nothing like them, and felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Spare yourself the disappointment.

The location is excellent, though the hotel itself wasn't the best. The walls are paper thin, the sheets were dirty, and the water ran cold. Restaurants, groceries, and mercados are just steps away, and the plaza de armas is a 15-minute walk.

We had large, comfortable rooms, and the friendly front desk staff spoke several languages. Breakfast was available until 9 a.m., and they packed lunches for early checkouts. They also stored our luggage while we did the Inca Hike. Staff and management went above and beyond to help us find somewhere to keep two very large items overnight. Thank you, Rodriguez! Restaurants and a great bakery are just a few metres from the entrance. The breakfast dining area stays open as a lounge all day, a nice place to relax and recover after a long week hiking. We'd definitely return.
