Centro by Casa Andina Cusco Saphi

The rooms are very clean, almost hospital-clean, with comfortable beds and fresh linens. It's a solid option for backpackers and people out adventuring, a step up from a hostel. Noise carries through the rooms and hallways, so bring earplugs.

The location made exploring Cusco easy, with the center and Sacsayhuamán both within a comfortable walk. Breakfast had a good selection each morning, and the staff were friendly. But we stayed as a couple for three nights in March 2026 in a double room at Centro by Casa Andina Cusco Saphi, and the stay was disappointing. Our room was right next to rooms under construction. A note said work would stop by 6:30pm, yet we had to call reception at 9:30pm because of drilling. It eventually stopped, though we still heard occasional hammering afterward. The bed was uncomfortable and affected our sleep. The lack of warning about the ongoing work was the main issue, and we probably wouldn’t stay again.

The service is what made this a five-star stay for me. Staff carried our suitcases up the stairs to our room, helped with recommendations, booked a taxi to the airport, and quickly sorted out a TV issue. There were complimentary hot drinks available at all times, and they booked us great massages in the hotel, thanks Noehly! The rooms have minimal decor and furniture, but the beds are comfortable and everything is very clean. It’s quiet, about a 10-15 minute walk from most attractions, and breakfast is great. There’s also a lovely little café next door. If you’re packing in activities over a few days like most people, this place is perfect. It’s simple, sure, but am I paying Ritz Carlton prices? No, and it isn’t the Ritz Carlton either. If you’re rating it below four stars, you need to calibrate yourself. All this for $40 a night, I can’t find anything close in the US or most of Europe.

What stood out most was the staff. They were professional and consistently attentive to guests' well-being. My stay was excellent, and the value for money was very good. Highly recommended for travelers looking for peace and quiet in Cusco.
