El Ave Azul Boutique Hotel Cusco

It felt like home, thanks to the kind staff and warm hospitality. The place was clean, the shower was great, and tea and water were available all day. The location is convenient too, about seven minutes from the plaza, with lots of restaurants and other facilities nearby.

The host is kind and helpful, and the breakfasts are wonderful, though having the same one every day can get repetitive on a longer stay. The location is reasonably close to useful places, but the street is narrow and one-way, with very narrow sidewalks. Walking there with traffic around can feel a bit harrowing. Wifi was unreliable on the third floor, disconnecting often, and sometimes devices couldn’t detect either of the two networks. It was more stable on the first and second floors. The beds and pillows are comfortable but on the firm side. Hot water can run short when many guests are showering. I had the best luck at night, at 6 AM, or after 9 AM. Hand and body soap are provided, but bring your own shampoo and conditioner.

It really did feel like coming home, and they treated us like family. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, though they don’t speak much English and sometimes get overwhelmed, so it’s a good idea to double-check details with them. The hotel is simple, with all the basics, and very clean. The reviews were right about the great breakfast.

The staff at El Ave Azul treated me like family, and the service was amazing. I spent a few days there before heading to the jungle. While I was away celebrating my birthday, they baked me a cake after I told them about it when I got back. Who does that?! The room was clean, and breakfast was simple but delicious.
