The hot tub was out of service, which was a disappointment since we booked this as our last hotel to relax after all the physical excursions. We did manage to book massages, though, and they were very nice. You only need to give an hour’s notice, and it’s available most of the day. The water pressure was great, and the temperature warm enough, though not hot. The hotel itself is beautiful, with great views and a good location, though it’s quite a climb uphill from Plaza de Armas. Ubers are affordable and get you pretty close. The staff were pleasant, and breakfast was very good. There’s no water bottle filler, which I didn’t love. All in all, it was a very nice stay.

I really liked the garden and spa services. The patio has grass and comfortable chairs, looks out over much of the city, and is a quiet, peaceful place. After our Inca Trail trek, my husband and I both had massages with Ruth and Florela. They were professional and so kind. The massage room on the hotel's fourth floor was lovely and already set up for guests. I’d highly recommend the massages. The Encantada is on a quiet street, but cars can’t reach it, so be ready to walk a little with your luggage. Lots of hotels around here are the same. Our room was cozy and comfortable, and the bed was very comfortable too, though the room felt a bit small when we returned with wet trekking gear. Breakfast was tasty, with fresh fruit, homemade bread, great avocado, and eggs cooked to order. It was a very good stay.

The shared terraces are really pretty, and the place has a lot of potential, but the execution was poor. The bathrooms smelled so bad that we kept the doors shut. They also completely messed up my scheduled spa treatment. Thankfully they refunded me, but despite talking with the front desk and the ‘owner’ by phone, I apparently wasn’t on the schedule at all. The restaurant food I ordered was fine, just unremarkable for a town with so many great options.

The rooms get cold, so they bring a hot water bottle each night, a nice extra touch. The terrace has a great view, and the hotel sits halfway between the central square and Sacsayhuaman Inca Ruin. The spa massages were excellent. Just make sure to double-check your taxi bookings ahead of time.

We were sad to leave after such a nice stay. The staff were amazing, breakfast was delicious, and they kindly kept our luggage while we went away on a five-day trek. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
