Gringo Bill's Cusco

After four days of hiking, we found the spacious room, big bed, clean bathroom and hot shower especially welcome. The location in Cusco was both convenient and quiet, and the staff were wonderfully helpful and welcoming throughout our stay.

We stayed in the old part of Cusco, and the Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast was delicious, though we often had to track down the person in charge and wait for a while. Nights could be chilly, but they brought us a heater as soon as we asked. The bathroom being open to the room was inconvenient.

Absolutely terrible experience. The building seemed to be falling apart, the bathroom smelled bad, and the roof leaked. The staff were incompetent and didn't speak English. While we were out at breakfast, they removed our belongings two hours before checkout and left our valuables, including laptops, in the shared area.

There was no water at all, not even to flush the toilet, so I couldn't shower. The place was dirty too, with long hairs and bits of something between the sheets. Having to use a toilet after someone else had gone number two was unpleasant. Don't waste your money.
