Hostal El Triunfo

We enjoyed the breakfast, especially the views from the breakfast room, and were able to leave our luggage after checkout until our late night bus. Our apartment was spacious and well equipped for the two nights we stayed. Being next to the cathedral is a great location, though bells start ringing early on Sunday and there are random fireworks. Even so, it was surprisingly quiet for such a central spot. We’d definitely stay again.

The rooms were clean, the wifi worked well, and everything was as it should be. The location was perfect, and everyone we dealt with, from the desk to the kitchen, was helpful. Strongly recommended. Thanks!

The spacious apartment was a highlight: it had a full kitchen with lots of kitchenware, a living room, and an incredible view. We also booked a standard budget room, which was small but functional, with two windows and enough room to rest comfortably. Both rooms were very clean, and the staff were kind and welcoming. Breakfast was adequate, with cereal, milk, yogurt, fruit, bread, cheese, ham, and eggs made to order. The breakfast area only seats eight and is tiny, but luckily that wasn’t a problem for us. A few things to keep in mind: reception is up three flights of stairs, most staff speak little or no English, and there was a drain odor, probably a Cusco issue rather than the hotel’s fault. The apartment was very cold, since there’s no central air and the only heaters were in the bedrooms. If you expect budget lodging, you’ll likely be pleased: it’s hard to beat the steps-from-the-main-square location, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

Free tea and coca tea are available all day. The hotel is clean and nice, very close to the Cathedral, and a good place to stay in Cuzco.
